Aloha, my name is Kristin Chong and I am a Kauai Photographer who specializes in family portraits, weddings, events and architecture. I am passionate about partnering with you to create images that genuinely reflect who you are and how you want to be seen. When you look at my work and see the smiling faces in my portraits, I hope it makes you smile too. Those were truly happy moments that I was fortunate to share with some wonderful people.

Background

I studied photography and majored in graphic design at Savannah College of Art & Design. After graduating college, I worked as a graphic designer and in-house photographer for architecture firms in Atlanta and New York City. There, I designed marketing materials and travelled the country to photograph people, events and architecture for my employers. My training as a graphic designer is evident in the striking composition and color balance displayed in my Kauai photography.

In December 2010, I traded my job on Park Avenue for a life where I could spend more time in real parks. My Boston terrier, Rascal, and I moved from Manhattan to Kauai, where I fell in love with the island. Today, I am lending my photography skill to local Kauai residents and visitors alike.

Professional Equipment

I use professional grade Nikon cameras and lenses as well as multiple flashes and other lighting modifiers as needed. After the photos are taken, I “develop” them in Adobe Lightroom.
